Swisslog Logistic, Inc., Warehouse & Distribution Solutions, provider of integrated logistics solutions (Warehouse Management Systems) is looking for a dedicated and innovative person to strengthen its Software Implementation team. The Software Engineers III is expected to work in small team sizes (3-5) on projects which run from 5-18 months in duration. A Software Engineer III is expected to be self-starter who can learn on their own and be mentored to take on more complex software tasks at the functional level with minimal supervision. A Software Engineer III will be able to quickly gain a solid understanding of the domain knowledge with minimal supervision, complete training assignments quickly contribute to requirements gathering and design discussions related to software development. A Software Engineer III will take on a wider variety of coding assignments as compared to a level I or II Software Engineer. A Software Engineer III will participate in the reviews and development of functional specification documentation needed for projects. Make an impact Perform software development work on applications Participate in requirements gathering, system analysis, and business analysis workshops with the customer Provide input on requirements Create low level design specifications Create acceptance test documents Participate in and conduct peer reviews of project documentation and code. Develop code and test developed code Participate in acceptance testing with customer Participate in on-site system commissioning Participate in on-site system support Carry out remote first/second level system support inside and outside of office hours Liaise with customer, project managers, and Swisslog management and peers What you need to succeed • Software Engineering, Computer Science, or an equivalent Engineering degree if no applicable work experience. • Must be able to travel up to 50% of time to project site to commission Manual or Automated Warehouse Management Systems • Developed and tested software in accordance with design requirements • Deliver defined parts of a project, including design, implementation, testing, integration, and documentation • Adequate practical experience in: -OO Concepts & Design and Java architectures -JAVA SE • Good relational database design and programming knowledge - RDBMS concepts - JDBC and SQL Desirable: • Previous professional experience in software development and software project business • Knowledge in Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), logistics processes and interaction with material handling automation system • Completed Java EE Web development training or have adequate practical experience in: JA Previous professional experience in software development and software project business • Knowledge in Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), logistics processes and interaction with material handling automation system • Experience with Java/J2EE application server environments such as Glassfish/WebLogic • Unix shell scripting • PL/SQL Completed Java EE Web development training or have adequate practical experience in: JAVA JEE and Web based user interfaces Our promise to you Swisslog is a world of opportunity for people who can deliver a game changing mission: driving the future of intralogistics, by shaping an era of robotic and data-driven automated solutions that create exceptional customer value.
