Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Designs, develops, documents, tests and debugs applications software and systems that contain logical and mathematical solutions. Conducts multidisciplinary research and collaborates with equipment designers and/or hardware engineers in the planning, design, development, and utilization of electronic data processing systems for product and commercial software. Determines computer user needs; analyzes system capabilities to resolve problems on program intent, output requirements, input data acquisition, programming techniques and controls; prepares operating instructions; designs and develops compilers and assemblers, utility programs, and operating systems. Ensures software standards are met. Software engineers at our Senior Principal (T04) level are expected to quickly gain mission and system domain knowledge coupling that with prior experience to mentor and influence others as well as contribute to advancing the program forward. The program appreciates engineers that identify and propose improvement ideas in technology, process, architecture, or tooling and are fast-learners on existing code bases. This position requires being onsite and does not support remote or hybrid work. Basic Qualifications: • Must have an active TS/SCI clearance at time of application. • Candidate must be able to obtain a Counterintelligence Polygraph (CI-Poly) • Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or a comparable STEM degree with 8+ years of software development experience; 6+ years with a Master's; or 4 additional years of experience in lieu of a degree. • Experience designing, developing, and troubleshooting in Python • Experience as a front-end, back-end, or full-stack developer • Experience developing on teams using Agile methodology, process, and tools • Comfortable using git, including branching, merging, and resolving merge conflicts • Experience with Container Management (Dockers and Docker-Compose) and networking with containers • Experience with software development on Red Hat Enterprise Linux • Experience using object-oriented design • Experience with rapid prototyping and implementation Preferred Qualifications: It is preferred that a given candidate has some of the preferred qualification below. No expectation of all. • Experience designing, developing, and troubleshooting in virtualized environments • Experience with Atlassian tools (Jira, Confluence, Bitbucket) and Kubernetes, Podman • Experience with AWS tools (S3, ECR, EC2) • Experience with software system integration, testing, and deployment, including but not limited to automation • Excellent problem-solving and debugging skills • Quick learning, comfortable with learning new technical concepts and new libraries and APIs • Self-motivated, ability to complete tasking independently Salary Range: $124,900 - $187,300 The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions. Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
