Entry-Level Software Engineer (C++ / C# / Linux / Windows) Location: Salt Lake City, UT (On-Site) Company: 90meter About the Role We're looking for a motivated new or recent graduate (University of Utah students encouraged to apply) ready to grow into a specialized cross-platform systems software role. You'll work directly with senior engineers on smart-card security, automation engineering, and test software development across both Linux and Windows. You'll gain hands-on experience building and maintaining secure authentication software that runs on multiple platforms: a Windows smart-card minidriver in C++, a cross-platform C#/.NET GUI client, and the Linux-side middleware and tooling that ties it all together. Along the way you'll pick up niche skills in secure authentication systems, PKI, systems internals, and the build and automation infrastructure that ships it. What You'll Do Develop and maintain smart-card software targeting both Windows and Linux Build and maintain a Windows smart-card minidriver in modern C++ Update and enhance a cross-platform C#/.NET GUI client that interfaces with the card layer Work with Win32 APIs and Windows security frameworks on the Windows side, and PKCS#11 and card middleware on Linux Write and maintain bash scripts for build, test, and deployment workflows Contribute to build, test, and CI/CD automation (Jenkins) Debug and troubleshoot customer deployments in enterprise environments Implement improvements to credential workflows and certificate handling Collaborate using Visual Studio and modern development tooling Work closely with senior engineering leadership and learn specialized systems programming and security skills Nice to Have (or Will Learn Here) Cross-platform development experience across Windows and Linux Smart-card, minidriver, or PKCS#11 experience Bash scripting and Linux command-line fluency Jenkins or other CI/CD experience (beneficial) Active Directory and certificate services knowledge Windows security APIs and credential providers C# WinForms, WPF, or Avalonia application experience Go (a plus, or something you'll get exposure to here) Understanding of authentication, PKI, certificates, and credential flow Familiarity with networking and enterprise IT environments What We're Looking For Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field (new grads welcome) Solid foundation in modern C++ and object-oriented programming Comfortable working across both Linux and Windows, or eager to become so Experience with C# preferred, or a willingness to learn quickly Some scripting experience (bash preferred) Interest in systems internals, security, authentication, and low-level work Strong debugging mindset and genuine curiosity about how systems really work Self-starter mentality and eagerness to grow into a specialized domain Why Join Us?
