About Job

Aquent is partnering with a leading global enterprise at the forefront of technology innovation, dedicated to creating groundbreaking experiences for millions worldwide. This organization is renowned for its commitment to engineering excellence and fostering a culture of innovation. Are you a seasoned Software Engineer with a passion for shaping the future of development? This is an extraordinary opportunity to join a dynamic team as a Senior Engineer, where you will be instrumental in advancing the organization’s AI Developer Tooling & Enablement platform. You will directly impact thousands of engineers globally by designing, implementing, and governing cutting-edge AI-powered developer tools, ensuring they are secure, scalable, and seamlessly integrated into the enterprise ecosystem. Your expertise will drive key technical outcomes, translating experimental AI capabilities into robust, production-ready solutions and significantly enhancing the developer experience across the entire organization. **Key Responsibilities** * Serve as a senior engineer and technical steward for the AI Developer Tooling & Enablement capability, providing administration and durable technical direction for enterprise-scale source code management platforms and AI-assisted development tools. * Establish and evolve technical standards, patterns, and best practices for AI developer tooling at an enterprise scale. * Drive multiple proof of concept and incubation efforts central to the organization’s AI development strategy, including background agents running on self-hosted runners, code evaluation and comparative analysis, and “Bring Your Own Model” (BYOM) enablement pathways. * Design and implement SCIM-based integrations to support automated team management, access control, and accurate cost allocation and chargeback for developer tools. * Translate experimental AI capabilities into secure, supportable, production-ready platforms. * Own and execute key initiatives related to enterprise source code management and adjacent AI development tooling, in alignment with enterprise governance and platform standards. * Provide end-to-end product support and operational ownership for developer tooling used by thousands of engineers. * Partner directly with external vendors to drive requirements, roadmap alignment, and issue resolution for critical development tools. * Evaluate new vendor features in Preview/Beta to determine enterprise applicability and value. * Coordinate and support annual regulatory compliance and security audits, and design automation for license management, reclamation, policy enforcement, and reporting. * Maintain and evolve an automation suite required to bridge gaps where vendor APIs are insufficient. * Serve as a key contributor to open-source initiatives, configurations, and inner-source tooling. * Consult with internal teams on advanced topics such as authentication patterns using platform-specific applications. * Design and implement plugins for internal developer portals, including AI tools portals, platform insights and workflows, and administrative control panels. * Contribute as a hands-on engineer and technical reviewer to other internal platform capabilities. * Build dashboards and tooling to improve visibility into developer tool usage, cost trends, and optimization opportunities. * Balance platform-level architecture with direct code contributions in TypeScript, backend services, automation frameworks, and infrastructure tooling. * Act as a core member of the AI Dev Tools Feature Review Committee, helping evaluate, approve, and operationalize AI tools for enterprise use. * Help shape and operationalize the approval lifecycle for internal AI infrastructure, from proposal through review and production readiness. * Ensure all AI tooling aligns with the organization’s security, compliance, and responsible-AI standards. * Operate at the center of the organization’s development ecosystem, partnering closely with inner-source contributors, security, legal, and platform engineering teams, as well as internal engineering customers. * Provide enterprise-level guidance on source control best practices, CI/CD patterns and platform usage, SDLC improvements, and developer experience optimization. **Required Qualifications:** * 8+ years of professional software engineering experience, with demonstrated senior-level technical leadership through architecture, delivery, and cross-team influence. A Bachelor’s degree is not required if experience is strong. * Deep expertise in enterprise-scale source code management platform administration, governance, and automation at an enterprise scale. * Strong background in platform engineering and developer experience tooling. * Hands-on experience with AI-assisted development tools and emerging AI platforms. * Proven ability to design and maintain automation frameworks where vendor APIs are limited. * Excellent cross-functional communication skills, including the ability to translate technical and financial concepts for senior stakeholders. * Proficiency in Python. * Experience with cloud platforms, specifically AWS. **Nice-to-Have Qualifications:** * Experience with internal developer portals and platform extensibility. * Familiarity with SCIM, identity management, and enterprise access controls. * Exposure to open-source contribution models and inner-source practices. * Business or financial education (e.g., MBA) or equivalent experience supporting vendor and cost management. * Experience with Golang. * Familiarity with container orchestration technologies like Kubernetes. **About Aquent Talent:** Aquent Talent connects the best talent in marketing, creative, and design with the world’s biggest brands.
