Overview Job Purpose We are seeking a motivated Software Developer (Level 1) to join our development team. In this role, you will contribute to the design, development, testing, and support of enterprise applications while continuing to build your technical expertise. You will work with modern technologies including C#/.NET, Java/Spring Boot, React, SQL, and cloud-based solutions, collaborating with experienced engineers to deliver high-quality software. As part of our AI-forward engineering culture, you will leverage tools such as Claude, GitHub Copilot, and other AI-assisted development tools to accelerate development, improve code quality, enhance productivity, and strengthen your problem-solving capabilities. This role is ideal for developers with 1-3 years of experience who are eager to grow their careers while working on impactful business solutions in a collaborative environment. Responsibilities Develop, maintain, and support applications using C#/.NET and Java/Spring BootAssist in designing and implementing new features and enhancements with guidance from senior team membersDevelop user interfaces using React, JavaScript, and TypeScriptWrite clean, efficient, and maintainable code following team standards and best practicesDevelop and consume RESTful APIs and integrate them with frontend applicationsLeverage AI-assisted development tools to support coding, debugging, documentation, testing, and code reviewsTroubleshoot and resolve application issues across backend, frontend, and database componentsParticipate in code reviews and incorporate feedback to improve code quality and technical skillsWrite and maintain unit tests to ensure code reliability and maintainabilityContribute to database development and maintenance using SQLCollaborate with Product Owners, Business Analysts, QA Engineers, and fellow developers to deliver business solutionsLearn and adopt emerging technologies, frameworks, and AI-assisted development practicesSupport application deployments, monitoring, and maintenance activities as needed Knowledge and Experience Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience)Early career role with mentorship and growth opportunities toward Software Developer (Level 2) responsibilities.1+ years of software development experienceWorking knowledge of C#/.NET and/or Java/Spring BootExperience with web development technologies such as React, JavaScript, HTML, and CSSUnderstanding of object-oriented programming principles and software design conceptsExperience working with SQL and relational databasesFamiliarity with RESTful API development and integrationExperience using Git or other version control systemsUnderstanding of Agile development methodologiesStrong problem-solving and analytical skillsExcellent communication and collaboration abilitiesComfort using AI-assisted development tools such as Claude, GitHub Copilot, or similar technologies to improve productivity and code qualityPreferred SkillsExperience with ASP.NET Core and/or Spring BootExperience building and maintaining React applicationsKnowledge of TypeScript and modern frontend development practicesFamiliarity with cloud platforms such as AWS or AzureExperience with CI/CD tools such as Azure DevOps or GitHub ActionsUnderstanding of containerization concepts and tools such as DockerFamiliarity with microservices architectureExperience with automated testing frameworks and testing best practicesUnderstanding of web application security principlesKnowledge of performance optimization and application monitoring techniquesExperience effectively leveraging AI tools throughout the software development lifecycle, including design, development, testing, documentation, and troubleshootingAbility to write effective prompts and understand the strengths and limitations of AI-assisted development tools Intercontinental Exchange, Inc. is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
