About Job
Who we are About Stripe Stripe is a financial infrastructure platform for businesses. Millions of companies—from the world’s largest enterprises to the most ambitious startups—use Stripe to accept payments, grow their revenue, and accelerate new business opportunities. Our mission is to increase the GDP of the internet, and we have a staggering amount of work ahead. That means you have an unprecedented opportunity to put the global economy within everyone’s reach while doing the most important work of your career. About The Team The Stripe Dashboard is the primary way that businesses manage their Stripe accounts with a web browser. The UI Components and Patterns team works across it holistically to ensure that Stripe has the best product dashboard in the world. The team operates by identifying and creating high-leverage opportunities, building great experiences for our users, and then scaling its methodology and learnings across the Dashboard. What you’ll do As a frontend engineer on the team, you’ll build and maintain platform-level components for the Stripe Dashboard, elevating the experience for every merchant. By creating and expanding these platform capabilities, you’ll make the page-to-page and product-to-product experience in the Dashboard more consistent, easy-to-navigate, and modern. You’ll collaborate with engineers and designers across many teams to identify new opportunities to improve and expand the Dashboard’s capabilities. Your work will be used by other engineers throughout Stripe, enabling them to ship high quality products with maximum throughput. Your impact will be felt both by product engineers building on top of your work, as well as real businesses out there in the world utilizing the Dashboard every day. Responsibilities • Partner with other teams–especially product, design and engineering–to understand and solve for their needs while considering the bigger picture • Design, build, roll out, and maintain UI paradigms that other teams rely on • Ensure code is consistent, accessible, mobile responsive, and flexible • Plan and execute against short-term and long-term goals • Make effective tradeoffs that consider business priorities, user experience, and a sustainable technical foundation Who you are We’re looking for someone who meets the minimum requirements to be considered for the role. If you meet these requirements, you are encouraged to apply. The preferred qualifications are a bonus, not a requirement. Minimum Requirements • Experience identifying and building frontend platform capabilities that solve broad problems for other teams • Expert at building consistent, accessible, and responsive web UIs • Motivated by solving hard problems, and measure your success in terms of impact doing so • Thrive in a collaborative environment with other teams to identify high-impact ways of solving problems quickly • Excellent oral and written communication • 2+ years of professional, hands-on, frontend software development experience Preferred Qualifications • Proficiency in TypeScript and React (or equivalent technologies); • Focus on simplicity: You prioritize simple, elegant solutions and designs over complex ones, demonstrating an intuitive understanding of what will endure and scale effectively; • Cross-Platform experience: You have a track record of designing and building user experiences that function seamlessly across a variety of browsers and devices; • User-Centric mindset: You can empathize with users, understanding their needs while integrating those insights into the broader scope of the project; • Familiarity with Design Systems: You have experience or interest with design systems and component libraries; • Rapid prototyping: You enjoy creating and collaborating alongside designers to bring concepts to life; • Commitment to documentation: You value and prioritize the importance of clear, comprehensive docs. Hybrid work at Stripe This role is available either in an office or a remote location (typically, 35+ miles or 56+ km from a Stripe office). Office-assigned Stripes spend at least 50% of the time in a given month in their local office or with users. This hits a balance between bringing people together for in-person collaboration and learning from each other, while supporting flexibility about how to do this in a way that makes sense for individuals and their teams. A remote location, in most cases, is defined as being 35 miles (56 kilometers) or more from one of our offices. While you would be welcome to come into the office for team/business meetings, on-sites, meet-ups, and events, our expectation is you would regularly work from home rather than a Stripe office. Stripe does not cover the cost of relocating to a remote location. We encourage you to apply for roles that match the location where you currently or plan to live. Pay and benefits The annual US base salary range for this role is $136,800 - $205,200. For sales roles, the range provided is the role’s On Target Earnings ("OTE") range, meaning that the range includes both the sales commissions/sales bonuses target and annual base salary for the role. This salary range may be inclusive of several career levels at Stripe and will be narrowed during the interview process based on a number of factors, including the candidate’s experience, qualifications, and location. Applicants interested in this role and who are not located in the US may request the annual salary range for their location during the interview process. Additional benefits for this role may include: equity, company bonus or sales commissions/bonuses; 401(k) plan; medical, dental, and vision benefits; and wellness stipends. job perk: Posted At: 20 hours ago, job perk: Salary: 137K–205K a year, job perk: Schedule Type: Full-time, job perk: Health Insurance: True, job perk: Dental Coverage: True
