About the position Join JPMorganChase’s Commercial & Investment Bank technology team in Tampa to design, build, and deliver high-performance full-stack applications supporting critical banking operations and client-facing platforms. The role works with Java and React across back-end and front-end layers, and contributes to modernizing systems, integrating AI-powered capabilities, and ensuring the reliability and scalability of mission-critical services. The work supports transaction processing, risk management, and services for clients across global markets.\n\nThe engineer collaborates with cross-functional teams to turn requirements into production-ready solutions, contributes to engineering practices and standards, and supports deployment pipelines and continuous delivery in an agile environment. The role also involves maintaining event-driven services and streaming pipelines, optimizing database access, and addressing performance, security, and technical-debt concerns. Responsibilities Design and develop scalable, maintainable full-stack applications using Java and React.Build and maintain event-driven microservices and real-time data streaming pipelines using Apache Kafka.Integrate AI Copilot and generative AI tools into workflows to improve developer productivity and deliver intelligent user experiences.Develop and optimize data access layers and queries across Oracle and PostgreSQL databases, maintaining data integrity and performance.Collaborate with product managers, architects, and business stakeholders to translate requirements into production-ready software.Participate in code reviews and technical design discussions, and contribute to engineering best practices and standards.Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks, system vulnerabilities, and technical debt across the application stack.Support deployment pipelines and contribute to continuous integration and delivery practices in an agile environment.Requirements Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts and at least 2 years of applied experience.Proficiency in Java back-end development, including RESTful API design and microservices architecture.Hands-on experience building responsive, component-based front-end applications with React.Working knowledge of Apache Kafka for event-driven architecture and real-time data streaming.Experience with relational databases, including Oracle and/or PostgreSQL, with query optimization and schema design.Ability to work in agile, cross-functional teams and deliver software iteratively.Strong problem-solving skills and ability to debug and resolve complex full-stack technical issues.Nice-to-haves Experience integrating AI Copilot tools or generative AI into software development workflows.Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud, and containerization technologies such as Docker or Kubernetes.Exposure to CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices, including automated testing and infrastructure as code.Knowledge of financial services, including trading, payments, or risk management systems.Experience with monitoring and observability tools for production system health and performance.Benefits Competitive total rewards package, including base salary determined by role, experience, skill set, and location.Eligible roles may receive commission-based pay and/or discretionary incentive compensation in cash and/or forfeitable equity.Comprehensive health care coverage.On-site health and wellness centers.Retirement savings plan.Backup childcare.Tuition reimbursement.Mental health support.Financial coaching. job perk: Qualifications: No degree mentioned
