Day to Day The Job Seeker Journey & Job Discovery team envisions revolutionizing Indeed's Homepage and Search with an AI-driven platform that personalizes job discovery for seekers and adds value for employers. As a Lead Front End Software Engineer, you will design and develop cutting-edge software that underpins this vision. Your emphasis will be on building scalable front-end solutions while collaborating with a diverse group of engineers, product teams, and other stakeholders. In this pivotal role, you will take ownership of technical design decisions, participate in code reviews, and leverage data insights to refine your work. You will actively engage in cross-team collaborations to spearhead projects and will continuously advance your technical skills as an engineer. Responsibilities Design, implement, and maintain features and services critical to our business functions. Enhance existing systems and prototype innovative capabilities. Conduct code reviews and engage in design discussions to ensure quality and reliability. Collaborate closely with engineers, product managers, and data teams to deliver cohesive solutions. Identify and implement performance enhancements and scalability improvements in code. Share knowledge and mentor team members through feedback and collaboration. Effectively communicate technical concepts and ideas within the team. Skills/Competencies Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience with a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Computer Engineering, or Electrical Engineering; or 3 years with a Master's degree; or a PhD. A strong background in developing large-scale, high-performance front-end systems that integrate with gRPC or GraphQL backend APIs. Expertise in Java and modern front-end technologies/frameworks like React/React Native, JavaScript, HTML, and CSS. Deep comprehension of UI/UX principles, design patterns, and best practices. Experience in building large-scale or distributed systems. Solid grasp of data structures, algorithms, and core computer science concepts. Demonstrated ownership and accountability for your work. A passion for learning and solving complex technical challenges. Salary Range Transparency Tier 1 - 118,000 - 178,000 USD per year Tier 2 - 131,000 - 197,000 USD per year Tier 3 - 145,000 - 217,000 USD per year Tier 5 - 166,000 - 248,000 USD per year Salary Range Disclaimer The salary range accounts for the minimum and maximum compensation for this role.
