Role Description As a Backend Software Engineer at MAZDIS, you will design, implement, and maintain the server-side components that power automated bike parking systems. You will develop and optimize APIs, data models, and integrations that connect hardware devices, web services, and internal tools. Day-to-day responsibilities include writing clean, testable code, performing code reviews, troubleshooting system issues, and improving performance and reliability. You will collaborate closely with front-end engineers, hardware engineers, and product stakeholders to translate requirements into scalable backend solutions. This is a full-time, on-site role based in Vancouver, BC. Qualifications Strong foundation in Computer Science concepts such as data structures, algorithms, and distributed systems.Proficiency in Back-End Web Development, including RESTful APIs, microservices, and database-driven applications.Experience in Software Development and Programming using at least one modern backend language (e.g., Python, Java, C#, Go, or Node.js).Solid understanding of Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) principles and design patterns.Experience with relational and/or NoSQL databases, including schema design and query optimization.Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) and containerization tools (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes) is an asset.Comfort working with hardware-integrated systems, IoT devices, or real-time control systems is a plus.Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.Ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional team and communicate complex technical topics clearly. job perk: Posted At: 1 day ago, job perk: Schedule Type: Full-time
