The Opportunity As a dedicated Mobile Software Engineer - Intermediate level, you will within defined guidelines and framework, provide support to the Enterprise through delivering best in class technology solutions. Engaged in all phases of the software systems and application development lifecycle which include gathering and analyzing requirements, designing, testing, documenting, and implementing software, responding to outages. We offer a flexible work environment that requires an individual to be in the office 4 days per week. This position can be based in one of the following locations: San Antonio, TX, or Plano, TX. Relocation assistance is not available for this position. What you'll do: • Design, develop, code, and test technical solutions • Write code to deliver features, and improvements, on a regular basis • Investigates and resolve technical problems and production issues through solving techniques • Continually improves operations by conducting systems analysis and recommending changes in policies and procedures. • Prepares and installs solutions by figuring out and designing system specifications, standards, and programming. • Follows the software development lifecycle. • Ensures risks associated with business activities are effectively identified, measured, monitored, and controlled in accordance with risk and compliance policies and procedures. What you have: • Bachelor’s Degree or 4 additional years of experience beyond the minimum requirement can be used in lieu of a degree OR Approved certification from CodeUp, Galvanize, VetFIT (Veterans for IT) or eFIT (Employees for IT). • 2 years of software development experience specific to a field/technology. • 1 year of experience delivering technology solutions in all phases of the software systems and application development lifecycle. • Basic Understanding of one or more of the following: Java, Swift, Objective-C, Cobol, JavaScript, Kotlin, C++, HTML, CSS, SQL, Go, and Python • Knowledge and understanding of fixing applications and systems within production issues. • Ability to quickly understand applicable business insight to provide appropriate Engineering solutions • Ability to effectively articulate technical challenges and solutions. • Basic understanding of cloud technologies and tools. What sets you apart: • 2+ years of iOS native mobile development experience using Xcode • 2+ years of experience in Swift programming language and Swift UI • 2+ years of experience working as part of an Agile scrum team • Working knowledge in GitLab and Jira • Working knowledge of unit and functional testing processes • Familiarity with testing frameworks such as qTest Compensation range: The salary range for this position is: $77,120.00 - $147,390.00. Compensation: USAA has an effective process for assessing market data and establishing ranges to ensure we remain competitive. You are paid within the salary range based on your experience and market data of the position. The actual salary for this role may vary by location.
