Description: Hybrid Onsite 5 days/week, alternating weeks in either Durham, NC, NH, RI, TX or NJ As a Principal Software Engineer, you will leverage engineering skills to modernize and test annuity contract generation and account opening applications. You will quickly gain understanding of application components and work with the team to deliver best-in-class solutions on a single policy administration platform using OIPA, Java, and Oracle DB. Due to client requirements, applicants must be willing and able to work on a w2 basis. Rate: $80.00 to $90.00/hr. w2 Responsibilities: Responsibilities • Modernize and test annuity contract generation and account opening applications on the OIPA platform. • Configure and extend OIPA, including rules, screens, integrations, and release management. • Diagnose and resolve application issues using Java within a maintenance-focused workflow. • Implement secure palette and application configurations, including roles, allocation, and valuation screens. • Develop and maintain data intake, extraction patterns, and AS file integrations. • Write and troubleshoot SQL queries and stored procedures in Oracle. • Apply design patterns and UML to design and documentation. • Collaborate with a cross-functional team to deliver reliable, scalable solutions and support upgrades from OIPA v10.2 to v11. Experience Requirements: Experience Requirements • 4+ years developing policy administration systems using OIPA, including configuration language, integrations, AS Files, data intake, database architecture, data extraction patterns, extensions, palette and application security, screens, and release management. • Proficiency in Java for application maintenance and defect resolution. • Experience implementing design patterns and using UML. • Experience with TDD and unit testing frameworks such as JUnit; exposure to Jasmine, Karma, and Protractor. • Proficiency with IDEs such as Spring Tool Suite and Eclipse in UNIX and Windows environments. • Ability to write SQL and debug stored procedures in Oracle. • Team-oriented mindset with initiative, collaboration, and continuous learning. • Understanding of Docker and cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure (preferred). • AWS Certification (preferred).
