Mid-Level Forward Deployed Engineer Huntsville, AL Competitive Compensation + Benefits + Mission-Driven Work Our client is looking for a Mid-Level Forward Deployed Engineer (FDE) to support the development and delivery of mission-critical Army Vantage capabilities within highly secure government and defense environments. This is a hands-on engineering role focused on building analytical applications, supporting deployment pipelines, and delivering production-ready functionality within Palantir Foundry. Working alongside senior engineers, technical stakeholders, and government users, the successful candidate will contribute across the full feature lifecycle — from design and sprint planning through to deployment and ongoing enhancement. The environment is fast-moving, agile, and highly collaborative, making this an excellent opportunity for an engineer who enjoys solving complex technical problems while working on projects with genuine operational impact. The Role The successful candidate will: Build and deliver analytical dashboard functionality using Palantir Foundry’s Workshop/Slate application layerSupport CI/CD pipeline activities, including build automation, testing, deployment workflows, and environment promotionImplement metric definitions and data transformations aligned to Foundry Ontology structuresContribute clean, reliable, production-ready code across front-end and data-driven workflowsParticipate in sprint planning, standups, sprint reviews, and stakeholder demonstrationsSupport testing, validation, troubleshooting, and incremental platform enhancementsProduce clear technical documentation, operational runbooks, and sprint artifactsCollaborate closely with senior engineers to resolve integration challenges and delivery blockers Experience Required Applicants should have: Hands-on experience with Palantir Foundry, including Workshop/Slate, Ontology, and pipeline development1–3+ years of software engineering experience within cloud, data, or platform engineering environmentsExperience with Python, TypeScript, or JavaThe ability to independently build, test, and deploy production-ready featuresExperience operating within agile delivery teams and sprint-based environmentsPrevious experience within government, defense, or classified environments would be highly advantageousHold an Active Secret or Top Secret Clearance, or have to ability to obtain one.
